Life: Does God Really Know What I’m Going Through?

Complaining is so easy to do now days. Do you ever wonder if God really understands everything you’re going through?

Isaiah 40:27-31-Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord;my cause is disregarded by my God”?
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

1. Why do we complain and say God doesn’t see what going on in my life and he’s basically ignoring me? God does know what’s going on and when we allow him to change us on the inside then our outer circumstances and things change.

2. I guess, maybe you haven’t heard, God is the Creator of the whole earth, the everlasting God. So, He knows everything going in your life!

3. He never gets tired. He never grows weary. Wow. God never gets tired. How cool is that?

4. His understanding no one can fathom. Well, this is comforting, right? It doesn’t matter if you fit in or if people around you understand why you are a little different. God understands every thing about you. So relax.

5. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Where are you weak? That’s where God will increase your power!

6. Even young college and career women get tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall… so even young people get tired!

7. But if you put your hope in God you will renew your strength.

8. You will soar on wings like eagles. God will teach you how to go along for the ride instead of getting burn out all the time going about things in your own way.

9. You will run and not grow weary. Run with God by obeying Him more and more. Obedience prevents burnout and keeps balance.

10. You will walk and not be faint. It’s hard to walk when you are feeling faint. I know I have been faint too many times too count. But God says if I put my hope in Him then I will walk and not be faint. So, it’s literally for me. But for you it maybe about walking through a season of your life and not fainting or losing heart when you are doing what God has asked you to.

Where are you needing strength right now in your life?

Strength Training: How God turns our weaknesses into Power for His Glory!

God’s idea of strength training is more like us just letting go of our way for His way!

Strength-the quality or state of being strong; capacity for exertion or endurance.-Merriam-Webster On-line Dictionary.

We become much more spiritually, mentally, emotionally and even physically fit by looking at each thought, word and moment of our life through God’s eyes. He’s not stressed or worried about the things we worry about. He’s God and He can fix every weakness in our lives. But sometimes he allows a weakness in one area so that His power would be shown through you.God could just zap us and make us be perfect in every way but how would He really get the credit then… wouldn’t we take the credit if we could do everything perfectly on our own? God has been teaching me that I can have peace, strength and power in Him and on the inside regardless of what’s going on in my body, circumstances, finances etc.

1. Isolate or locate the areas of your life that are weak!

Here’s a few of mine:

a. My body has many physical weaknesses
b. For years my mind too often is believing the negative things rolling around instead believing what God says.
c. In my effort to keep peace and please others I would often do things the way they wanted not what God wanted me to do or say.
d. I spoke too much of the daily physical weaknesses I had and drove everyone nuts. I take it to God and still share but I allow God’s power to be shown instead of a long list of other things.
e. I was overly sensitive about everything, I carried everything going on around me like a heavy weight but it didn’t make me stronger it made me weaker physically, mentally and emotionally. I was carrying my struggles and the opinions of everyone else around me. Again, I wasn’t always listening to what God was saying in an area I was trying to do what other people thought I should be doing.
f. I had an inner dialogue where I was over analyzing my every action, other people’s reactions, how I should respond, what should I do differently, how can I do better, where did I go wrong in that situation… I felt defeated too often because I was focused on my mistakes instead of how I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. It’s hard to do right when you feel like everything you do is wrong or not good enough!

2. Ask God what He wants to do about the weaknesses in your life.

He has a tailored plan just for you to get you strong and fit from the inside of your spirit all the way to the outside of your body. God has used my weaknesses, life circumstances, being homeless all winter and many other things to help me focus in on what He needed to do. He needed to make me strong in my mind, spirit and emotions and then my body is also getting stronger.

3. What is God saying about our weaknesses and His strength in His word?

II Corinthians 12:7-10
7Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me—to keep me from exalting myself! 8Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. 9And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

God strengthens us through our actual weaknesses as we allow Him to work in our lives. His power is perfected in our weaknesses.

Ex: Too many times I’ve said the wrong thing, in the wrong way, said to much, spoke to soon, didn’t speak up, on and on and on. But God has been teaching me and using my mouth now to encourage other women. He uses my voice to sing beautiful notes and melodies that I am not worthy to sing to Him. But regardless of how weak and imperfect my mouth has been, I know His power is being shown through my weaknesses.

How does God use the weaknesses in your life for His glory?

Trust: How Trusting God and doing what He says will help you overcome any Obstacle’s!

Trust- A belief that someone or something is reliable, good, honest, affective etc.- Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

Have you ever struggled to trust God, people or anything else because of your experiences in life? I certainly have! I have gotten myself into some pretty horrible situations which God quickly turned around.. by quickly I mean 6-12 months!

At 22 I was dating a worship leader who appeared to be living for God but he had a complete double life. Before I knew it he was controlling every aspect of my life. This was easier than usual for him to do because I was heavily medicated on a strong anti-seizure medication. He had a very serious addiction which he used me to fulfill. It was a nightmare. But God helped me get away from him, off the strong medication, and helped me start my whole life over. God helped me get away from this abusive relationship while I was unable to work or drive and totally disabled from seizures and other health battles. But the larger miracle came as God gave me the ability to trust people in church and especially men again. I spent a couple years allowing God to remove the pain that had built up inside of me from all of the hardship and trauma. Today, I am happily married to an awesome man named Sean and God has helped me to be able to trust the people He has placed in my life, especially my husband.

Maybe you have been through rough challenges in life and think I’ll never be able to trust anyone ever again, not even God. Maybe you feel as though no one is there for you. Bad things happen to all of us, but you can rely on God and trust He has a plan to help you if you ask Him too!

1. I spent a lot of time with God, in His presence and reading my Bible after the abusive relationship. Every moment I spent with God was a moment I was becoming more whole and learning God is safe.

2. I realized that just become some men were bad not all were… but my eyes were now open. The naive side of me left when I was raped by this worship leader from a church. Danger is everywhere but then, so is God.

3. I spent a lot of time worshiping God. God’s presence fixes the pain and broken places inside of us.

4. God’s love removes fear. As I spent time with God He removed my fear… fear of being hurt again. I John 4:18

5. Not long after meeting my now husband Sean in 2006 I stepped out in faith and began dating him after he’d been around my cousin and her family for awhile. I learned he was a man who loves God and does his best to live it. He wasn’t selfish, he was servant oriented always wanting to help and not in a fake way… in a real and refreshing sort of way.

6. Trusting God and being able to hear from Him allows me to trust those He brings into my life. People may fail me and I might fail them at times but God never fails… He is incapable of failing.

7. I had to believe (Jeremiah 29:11-13) God has an awesome plan for my life and wants good things and relationships for me. It’s hard to believe God though unless I’m reading His words and applying it to my life. As we use our faith, God reacts to it and shows us we can trust Him.

Do you ever struggle to trust God in an area of your life? If so will you ask God to help you in this area?

Hiding Place: When Life is Crazy where do You Run?

Hiding Place...

Today’s Song Loop:

Where is your Hiding Place?
Photo Above, Styling, Hair and Make Up done by: Catherine Thomson

When Life is crazy where do you run?
Where is your hiding place?
When I run to God, run to God, I am safe in His embrace.

1. Running to God when people mistreat us or life is hard protects us.

2. Running to food, drugs, alcohol, wrong relationships, gossiping etc… harms us and often other people.

3. God does gives us friends and people who are safe to talk to and it’s a healthy thing but they can not replace our hiding place in Him.

4. In God’s secret hiding place He sings His songs of freedom over us until we are whole! Psalm 32:7-You are my hiding place; you will protect me and surround me with songs of deliverance.

5. Stay and hang out for awhile in your secret hiding place with God!

6. We all run to the wrong place for comfort at times but don’t give up if you’ve run to the freezer or the phone just run right back to God!

7. God takes our greatest weaknesses (me and my mouth) and uses them to bring Him the most glory!
II Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

So, When Life is crazy where do you run? Where is your hiding place?

Love: God is Running to Love You!

God’s Running to Love us!

Love, have you ever looked for it in the wrong place? I have. I’m learning to run to God and let Him love me. God’s been my best friend my whole life but I’ve often gotten this whole love thing wrong.

1. I wanted to love other people but was so focused on being horrified by my own mistakes large or small and would then have trouble receiving love from God.

2. My whole life I wanted people to love me and many do, but I still run to people looking for love and comfort too often when I simply need to run to God. His love will fixes every broken place inside of us.

3. God is always running to love us no matter where we are in life.

4. My biggest failures often come flying at the speed of light right out of my mouth. If I’m hurting… boom… I talk about it. If I’m happy… I talk about it… if I’m scared I talk about it… it’s part of who I am. But God is teaching me to run to Him with many of the painful things life brings. There is a safe secret place we can go to in Him. He understands what we are going through.

5. So when I’m looking to people for love and understanding about my life and many are very kind and loving I must also know only God can love me the way I need to be loved. It’s not that loving others and receiving that love isn’t powerful, but sometimes we need a large dose of God’s love and we go running to other people to comfort us and this is ok sometimes but it won’t make us whole on the inside in every area. Only God’s direct power and love and receiving it will do that!

6. Romans 8:38-39 NIV
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

7. I’m learning to receive love from God so I can love myself and others.

Running to Love You

Do you know God is running to love you?
Do you know God is running to love you?
Can you believe it?
Can you receive it?
God’s love will mend every broken place inside you.

So many years I tried, to do everything right,
So many tears I cried both day and night,
For You to love me (God)
For you to love me…

I didn’t know, God was running to love me.
I didn’t know, God was running to love me.
Now I can believe it,
Now I can receive it and
God’s love is mending every broken place inside me

I didn’t know… God’s love.
I didn’t know… God’s love.
I didn’t know..God’s love.

So, Do you know God is running to love you?
