Black Friday: God’s Moving Faster Than a Black Friday Shopper!

Black Friday used to start around midnight, but now it’s starting earlier and earlier. So in the spirit of things moving so fast I posted tomorrow’s blog ahead of schedule to sink up with the theme.

God is moving so fast and it’s a new day and a new moment in time where God wants us to get up and get going on what He has called for us to do. I know it’s not easy, but God wants to bring freedom in every area of our lives.

Nothing is impossible for God so wherever you are struggling right now, addictions, eating disorders, anxiety, fear, anger, grief, depression etc. Just know God wants to set you free so you can move. Move forward and don’t be left behind because God’s moving faster than a speeding bullet train, He’s moving faster than a Black Friday Shopper!

Come on, let’s go with God and make a difference in people around us each and every day!

What is God calling you to do today?

What's God calling you to do?

Body Image: Do you struggle to find Balance with Food over the Holidays?

Studies show body image struggles often begin around the age of six. Maybe it’s because we grow up here in America with so many Barbie Dolls, mirrors and general focus on what we look like. Many of us also develop negative Body Images because our moms had one and that’s what we grew up with. Sometimes the stress of the Holidays like Thanksgiving can be just enough to trigger you to start ping ponging between eating enough to not eating or anything in between. We want to enjoy the Holidays without letting our health go sideways, but that’s easier said that done at times, right?

What is the hardest thing for you about your body image, food and the holidays?

God’s Love: Did You Know it Isn’t Earned Only Received?

God’s Love for us goes deep. I pray He helps us Believe it and receive it so we can share it with others.

For too many years I couldn’t receive God’s love on a regular basis because I was focused on everything I felt was too awful or too big for God. God has showed me His love can’t be earned it can only be received. We simply receive what Jesus did for us and believe it was more than enough to cover every sin and mistake we would commit during our lives.

God’s Love is a gift and not based on our performance.

His love is a gift free to us, but Jesus paid with His life and suffered so we could receive it.

How many friends do you know who would lay down their life for you?

Jesus’ death and resurrection was enough to save the whole world, and more than enough to cover the things we do and say that bring us further from God.

Faith: Without it We Can’t Please God and Receive His Love

Faith in God helps ground us and keeps us from being tossed around like were in a constant hurricane. Also, without faith we really can’t please God or receive His love fully. If we can’t receive His love, how will we really love those around us. Sometimes I have really needed faith to believe what Jesus did on the cross was more than enough to cover my sins. It was easier to agree with the enemy and feel unworthy of God’s love. God came along and did a deep work inside of me and help me to receive His love fully. For too long I felt unworthy of God’s love and mercy. I felt unworthy and somehow maybe I could please God if I worked hard enough for Him. But God’s love isn’t earned by works, He loves us right where we are. Jesus paid it all on the cross and if we ask God for more faith He will give it to us because He wants us to be free. He wants us to love Him, Love ourselves and love others… and without faith we simply can’t do this.

Hebrews 11:6 James 1:6 1 Corinthians 13:13 Ephesians 11:1 Romans 10:17 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Vlog Notes:

1. What is faith? Ephesians 11:1- Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

2. Why do we need it? Hebrews 11:6- And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

James 1:6- But when you ask you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like the wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

3. How does God increase our faith? God increases our faith as we hear His word and through a gift of faith given by the Holy Spirit. So if your faith is low in an area ask the Holy Spirit to give you a gift of faith and to increase your faith so you can believe God and fully receive all He wants to give you.

Romans 10:17

Do you need the Holy Spirit to increase your faith today?

Hope: Do You Ever Feel Hopeless Inside Your Heart?

Keep the Faith

No matter where you need hope right now, believe me, you can always find hope at Jesus feet. In John 15 Jesus said “Remain in Me and I will remain in you.” When we remain in Jesus we have hope. When are thoughts go into dark, negative areas we begin to quickly lose our hope. When we lose our hope we become depressed. But when we think about what Jesus did on the cross in dying for our sins and God raising Him back to life again three days later… we have hope. There’s nothing hopeless in your life that God can’t bring back to life again if it is His will. I pray that together we can remain in Jesus and that He will raise hope up on this inside of us as we think on the things that are above and not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2)

Love: Loving others moment by moment in Life!

Today on ‪#‎HeartLine‬ I am talking about love in very practical ways. Jesus wasn’t fast to judge in John 8:1-11. The women who was caught in adultery and drug out into the street was about to be stoned but they wanted to know what Jesus thought. First, he drew in the sand and then he basically looked up and said whoever hasn’t sinned you throw the first stone!

Needless to say this women was not condemned by Jesus or anyone else, he simply said “Go and sin no more.”

Jesus was able to walk in love like this because he paused, waited and then responded. He took it moment by moment. I know all too often I don’t do this and then realize, “I shouldn’t have reacted that way!”

Here’s the Video Notes:

1. Jesus was able to perfectly walk in love because He spent time receiving it from God. He was in constant communication with the Holy Spirit.

2. God’s love causes me to pause and think before I go and react in a situation, but it’s needed every moment through out the day. Of course, I often forget to pause and then realize…”Oops, Not the best way to handle that!”

3. When we receive God’s love and realize He loves us right where we are, we can settle down, not act crazy, and run around looking to fill a hole in our hearts only God can fill.

4. God often loves us through people and circumstances, but that doesn’t mean God stops loving us when we experience hardship, loss or pain.

5. Living your life to please others so maybe they’ll love and accept you will leave you empty, tired, frustrated and burnt out. I know I’ve tried!

6. I often feel God’s tangible love and presence the most during worship.

7. The enemy wants you to believe God doesn’t love you because of painful life experiences. Don’t agree with the enemy. Believe God loves you. God created you to love you.

Hope this encourages you today!

Do you know you are loved by God?

Anger Issues??? 7 Keys to Being Slow to Anger in Life!

Anger Issues???

King Solomon a very wise man wrote about how there is a time and place for everything in life in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

1. Breathe. The moment you feel anger rising up, take a deep breath and blow it out as slowly as possible. This helps calm you back down and it will give you a chance to think before you react.

Psalm 46:10- He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

2. Moment by moment work through your anger as it comes up. What is making you angry? Is there something constructive you can do about it?

Ephesians 4:26
Be you angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath:

Proverbs 19:11
He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalts folly.

3. Ask. Ask God for HELP! If you listen He will instruct you in what to do or what NOT to do… God is our Safe place and our hiding place we can trust Him and confide in Him at all times.

Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

4. Work it out. Maybe you need to go and talk to someone and confront a situation. Maybe you feel there is nothing you can do but you have a lot of anger energy. Do something physical that’s constructive like going for a nice long walk, cleaning and organizing your house, or engaging in a hobby you love.

Jesus at the Temple- Matthew 21:12- Jesus had a righteous anger here and confronted the thieves at the temple… but he didn’t harm anyone. He also instructed those who were doing wrong why he was throwing their tables over. This wouldn’t be good in many situations but in the context of what Jesus was saying it was ok.

Matthew 21:12-13
12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’[e] but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’[f]”

5. Vent. God is our hiding place take most of your venting to Him and He will bring you relief. Tell Him exactly how you feel about the situation and ask Him what you should do.

6. Wait. You know the moment your about to really lose it… wait. If you pause and breathe and wait you might not react in an unhealthy way.

7. Process it daily. You will get angry even Jesus did! But process this daily because if you hold on to it for too long you will become bitter. Your angry bitter thoughts will steal your time, your health, your joy and no one will want to hang out with you! It’s not fun or attractive to be around someone who’s bitter or angry often.

Bonus tips:
a. Eat.
b. Sleep
c. Exercise
d. Do something fun each day
e. Hang out with friends
f. Shift your focus

What has been making you angry lately and how are you processing it?

Women: Secrets to a Life of Fun, Excitement and Adventure Daily!

Young Christian women across America, and the world, how can life be full of fun and adventure daily?

Music: Listen to “Victors Crown” Hillsong Music
Written by: Darlene Zschech, Israel Houghton, Kari Jobe

Secret #1.
Obey God. Live for Him 100% by simply obeying and doing whatever He tells you to do. God doesn’t want us disobeying and then sacrificing later to try and make up for our sin, He wants total surrender and obedience. We’re replaceable! In 1 Samuel 15 God was grieved at King Saul’s disobedience and in the next chapter he was anointing someone else to become King… David. And David was out taking care of sheep when He was called up to be the next King. So, by doing what God wants and being a worshiper and enjoying hanging out with God, He may just give you a sudden extreme promotion for your consistent devotion to Him! But the joy and adventure come in to play as we simply live for God day after day after day!

Secret #2.
Ladies, not long ago I asked God why I often still go my own way and this is what He is showing me: What keeps us (me) from obeying God fully?

a. Fear – What will others think? What if I fail? Allow what God says about you to lead you and not your fears!

b. Not fully understanding God’s Vision, Dreams and Plans for our lives so we have no focus or discipline to accomplish what He has called us to do.

Proverbs 29:18 (CEB) – When there’s no vision, the people get out of control, but whoever obeys instruction is happy.

c. Simply not spending enough time with God, in His Word, prayer, worship and fasting makes it extremely easy to get distracted and off track.

d. Idols – anything we put before God, like what we do with our time, being selfish and self-centered in our way of thinking, acting and doing things.

e. Pain – How often is pain an excuse for why we do or don’t do something we really need to do? This could be any type of pain and God is greater than pain. He won’t ask us to do anything that He won’t enable us to do.

f. Weakness– I was physically weak and insecure for years and wondered how in the world God would use me again. It’s a distraction at times but God see’s us as strong and able even when we don’t feel it yet. God isn’t allowing me to use any weakness as an excuse for not getting the work done He’s called me too! Why? Because He is greater than my weakness, or your weakness… our strength comes from Him alone. He never grows tired or weary. So He get’s this stuff done through us as long as we remain ready and willing. The ability comes directly from Him. Along with the resources and everything else to get the job done.

g. Listening to Satan, other people or your own inner thoughts that don’t line up with God’s Word and plan for your life! I was stuck right here for a long time. If I really don’t work to stay on top of things in my thoughts I become prey to the enemy and He wreaks havoc in my life in about 1 second. He’s a predator. He’s a lion waiting to devour you when you get your mind off of the things that are above and get them on the things of this world and your own desires too much.

h. Responsibility Excuses: I have family, work and other responsibilities… true but if God wants us to get something done, He will show us how to be responsible in all other areas of our lives and get His work done.

i. I’m Tired! – The Joy of the Lord is our strength. God never grows tired or weary so He can certainly give you the stamina to get things done when you do not have the energy, strength or power to get it done. In fact, it’s in those moments you know God truly was helping you to succeed. You look back and think “there’s no way I did that, it was totally God because I had nothing left to give.”

j. Reward Excuse: That sounds something like this “Well, I’ve been working hard so I think I’ll eat that candy bar now, when the Holy Spirit is saying, No don’t eat it now, eat something else, but you feel like you deserve it so you eat it anyways and justify your sin by your own fleshly works.” I’ve done this type of thing too many times to count. If I can obey in what I eat, then it’s easier to obey in almost every other area literally. So right now the Holy Spirit is working on me to eat less refined sugars. This is a good place to start and it means eating a lot more real food. You see God is all up in our business from the moment we give our lives over to Him. And the longer we are with Him the more He expects of us and all these excuses are things God begins to show us will no longer work with Him. Once this week when I had desert and I could’ve gone without it I noticed I didn’t feel as good, my sinuses felt more inflamed… the refined unhealthy sugars were obviously not good for me. So every time I want to eat the wrong thing, I just try to remember if I want to feel well and be happy, and have these daily adventures and fun with God, I will have to be disciplined enough to eat well.

Secret #3
Don’t give up! It’s easy to not see everything falling into place the way we want it to in life and give up. This isn’t the time to give up, to give in or to let our enemies win. This is the moment to live for God and be successful in life through obedience and allowing God’s love, joy and power to permeate every place we enter into!

Priceless: 7 Keys to Understanding Your Personal Value!

Priceless. That’s a value so high you can’t even put a number on it, you really are priceless. So often in life though we walk around not understanding our value. More importantly, it’s how God’s see’s us and values us that really matters. Here are 7 Keys to helping you understand how valuable you really are to God:

1. You are priceless because God created you in His image and you are unique. No one can replace you.

Genesis 1:26-27-Then God said let us make man in our own image, in our likeness and let him rule over the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God created man in his own image.

2. You are priceless because God felt you were valuable enough to send Jesus His only Son to die for you and me. John 3:16

3. God say’s you are priceless and shows it through his love.

Psalm 36:7-9 How priceless is your unfailing love, both high and low men find refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

4. You are priceless as God’s beautiful creation a woman; not because of what you do in life.

5. You are priceless to God no matter what happens to you, or what you do.

This doesn’t mean we can do whatever we want without consequences, No! But it does mean that your value in God doesn’t change just because someone mistreats you or you mistreat someone else or act crazy some days.

Sin doesn’t change our value, it changes our position.

Sin keeps us from being in the position of reaching God through prayer.

And, shame from sin causes us to feel like we aren’t worth much. This could be from many different things including abuse.

Psalm 34:5 Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

6. You are priceless to God regardless of what you own or how much money you have!

7. You are priceless as a woman no matter what you look like.

Bonus: You are priceless regardless of:
a. How you feel
b. How much education you have
c. What job you have or don’t have
d. Get it! You are priceless and there is no one else like you and never will be.

Do you know how priceless you are to God?
